Abstract

Summarizes survey results in the Gola area of Sierre Leone which has been rapidly losing elephant forest habitat due to both agriculture and forestry. It is considered that the only animals having long term survival possibilities are about 150 animals in the Gola Reserve itself. Conservation measures are recommended. Full report also in file.
